Services and Pricing
Every death is different, and so is every grief. Here’s what I offer. Most families use more than one of these, and we’ll work out together what fits.
What I Offer
Anticipatory Grief Support
For the grief that begins before the death, whether you’re standing at the bedside or lying in the bed. A terminal diagnosis starts a grief of its own, and it deserves room. I help the dying, and the people who love them, face what’s coming honestly and find what still matters in the time that’s left.
Companion and Vigil Care
Steady presence throughout the dying process, while the transformation is underway. I can sit with your person through the long nights, give family a chance to rest, and help the room feel the way they want it to in the final days and hours.
Advance Care Planning and Legacy Work
Help putting your wishes into words before they’re needed: where you want to be, who you want with you, and what you do and don’t want done. Legacy work is the other half: letters, recordings, stories, or a piece of art we make together, so something of you stays with the people you love.
Family Support and Education
Dying is unfamiliar to most families, and fear fills the gaps. I explain what to expect as the end approaches and what’s normal, and I help families talk with each other when the conversations get hard.
Funeral and Memorial Planning
The hours and days after a death bring a flood of decisions at a time when no one can think clearly. I help families understand their options, plan a service or ritual that fits the person, and handle details so they can be present with each other.
Grief Support
Ongoing support after a loss, for as long as you decide the grieving process should take. There’s no checklist to finish and no deadline for being “better.” The pace is yours.
Pricing
Free initial consultation. The first conversation is always free, with no obligation. We’ll talk about what’s happening, what you need, and whether I’m the right fit for your family.
One-on-one support: $37.50 an hour. This covers grief and anticipatory grief support, companion and vigil care, family support, and planning sessions.
Funeral and Memorial Services: As an ordained minister, I officiate funerals, memorials, and celebrations of life, and I bring a doula’s perspective to them. A service I lead is built around the person, not a script: who they were, what they believed or didn’t, and what the people gathered need to hear. It can be religious, spiritual, or entirely secular. If I’ve walked with your family through the dying, the service can carry that story forward. I can also help with the decisions and details after a death, so you can be present with each other.
Funeral and memorial services start at $300, with applied discounts for families I’ve already supported.
Packages: Bundling services can save you 10 to 25 percent. I’ll put together a package around what your family actually needs.
Sliding scale: If cost is a barrier, tell me. I offer a sliding scale, and I don’t believe money should be the reason anyone goes without support at the end of a life. I’m able to offer this because of the Hidden Hearts program: sales of my small paintings, each with a hidden heart, help fund care for families who couldn’t otherwise afford it. I work in person in Missoula County, Montana.
